A BIG THANK YOU to Park County Voters
for PASSING THE CAP TAX!
The ballot question was approved with 6,761 votes (for)
to 4,906 (against) or 58-42 percent.
We can all look towards a bright future for Park County.
Let’s not leave millions of dollars ”on the table.”
Two generous grants for the library are contingent on passage of the 1% capital facilites tax on November 7.
$2.2 million from the State Loan and Investment Board
$100,000 from the Park County Library Foundation
The Cap Tax, if passed, will provide part of the funding necessary to move the Park County Library in Cody from its current location to the bottom floor of the Park County Complex, formerly the Marathon Building.
In most communities, a new library will be built only two or three times in a century. And this–the Cody Library’s Centennial year–is that special time in Park County, Wyoming.
The problems with the current 41-year-old facility get worse every year: increased traffic, limited parking, safety, ADA compliance, lack of space for programs and meetings, shortage of room for modern technology, and inadequate work areas are a few of the problems.
